Instructions on how to access and remove the SD card from the DV6 camera
Just like any device with parts that wear down over time, the DV6 camera also requires periodic replacement of the microSD card as it gets worn out from use. This article will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to access the microSD card slot on your DV6 camera.
Step 1. Open the side panel
To begin, find the power cable on your DV6 camera. The side where the power cable is located will have a panel that needs to be removed in order to access the microSD card slot.
To remove the panel, you will need a security torx bit for a screwdriver or hex wrench. One is provided with the DV6.
Step 2. Locate microSD card slot
After removing the side panel, you will need to locate the microSD card slot. The microSD card slot is labeled TF and is towards the top-center of the side of the camera.
Step 3. Remove microSD card from the camera
The microSD card is under spring tension to assist ejecting it from the camera. Care should be used when removing it as there is enough tension to launch the microSD card from the camera and it can become lost due to its small size.
For easier microSD card removal, it is recommended you use a pair of tweasers to more easily grasp the microSD card.
To eject the microSD card, push the card in until a click is heard. Carefully release the microSD card and it will slide out of the slot. Now grasp the card and pull it all the way out of the slot.
