How Events Are Quarantined in RoscoLive

RoscoLive quarantines events according to three definitions used to determine if an event is excessive.

The Quarantine page captures events that are being generated excessively. There are 3 definitions used to define what "excessively" means, and if an event meets any of these definitions, it will be placed in Quarantine.

First Definition

If two events of the same type occur within 5 minutes of one another, push the second event to quarantine.

For example:

If a Max Speed event is generated and 3 minutes later another Max Speed event is generated, the second event will be quarantined. 5 minutes after the initial event, if another Max Speed event is generated it will be treated normally.

Second Definition

If two events of the same type occur and are not quarantined, any additional events of the same type occurring within an hour of the first event will then be pushed to quarantine for 30 minutes.

For example:

A High G-Force event is generated, then a second is generated 30 minutes later, and finally, a third is generated 15 minutes after the second. According to the definition above, the third event occurred within the same hour window as the first High G-Force event. Therefore the third event and any other High G-Force events that occur will be pushed to quarantine for 30 minutes starting from the third High G-Force event.

Third Definition

A maximum of 8 events of the same type are allowed in one calendar day. After this maximum is reached, all subsequent events of the same type will be quarantined until the next calendar day.

For example:

A camera has generated 8 Tailgating events that were not quarantined with the last event being at 6:00 pm. Any further Tailgating events generated by this camera will be quarantined until 12:00 am the following day when the count will reset.
