DV7 Installation Workflow
The Installer App now supports DV7 devices, providing installers with a guided setup experience tailored to the selected DV7 model, channel configuration, and harness type.
- Added automatic DV7 device detection during pairing. The Installer App now automatically detects whether the connected device is a DV6 or DV7 at the pairing step and displays the appropriate device type throughout the installation workflow.
- DV7 model selection during installation. For DV7 devices, installers are now prompted to select the appropriate model:
- DV701 – Supports CH1 (planned for future release)
- DV702 – Supports CH1 and CH2 (planned for future release)
- DV703 – Supports CH1, CH2, CH3, and CH4
- Enhanced harness selection for DV7 installations. Harness options are now dynamically displayed based on the selected DV7 model and supported channel configuration. Advanced harness options are only displayed when CH3 and CH4 are available (DV703 installations).
- Supported harness options include:
- OBD-II: DV774 (Basic), DV775 (Advanced)
- J1939: DV776 (Basic), DV772 (Advanced)
- Hardwired: DV773 (Basic), DV778 (Advanced)
🛠️Improvements
There's always room for improvements! Here are the improvements we made in v2.13.0:
- Simplified the installation workflow by automatically applying CAN Bus configuration values and skipping unnecessary setup screens for Hard Wired and DV665 (OBD-II) installations.
- Improved Bluetooth permission handling during device pairing by providing clear guidance when required permissions are disabled and preventing users from becoming stuck in the pairing workflow.
- Improved credential retention during app upgrades, allowing users with "Remember Me" enabled to log in using their previously saved credentials.
- Added a Finish/Confirm action to the Network Settings workflow, allowing users to clearly complete network configuration changes and apply settings without relying on back navigation.
- Improved navigation behavior when exiting the Calibration screen, allowing users to return to the Home screen with a single back action.
- Improved harness detection logic to ensure CAN connection checks are only performed for OBD and J1939 harness types.
